Behind the Music

Composer’s Thoughts

It’s no secret that Anastasia is my muse. For thirty years I sat on songs half-written and built up a catalog of literally thousands of songs I did nothing with. Two music degrees, yet nothing to show for them. When I met Anastasia, that dam burst in a spectacular way. This song is about that feeling. Anastasia is also a huge fan of the Aerosmith song, “Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” so stylistically, that inspired this song as well. In fact, she had the song playing when I formally proposed to her.

Troy’s Thoughts

Every artist needs to find what inspires them. Sometimes it can be a family member, sometimes it’s the person you love, and sometimes its your own drive and ambition. I get the meaning of this song and it was an easy yes when it came down to doing it.
