Loyalty's End

In true country fashion, a song about marital infidelity and the fallout when her husband discovers it. Brought to life by our resident country voice, Clint, this is a painful song of loss and betrayal.

Lyrics

Tell me what happened
Why is it so hard today
For people to follow through
And do the things they say
When did the world change
When did our morality bend
Did we lose all perspective
Why… did loyalty end?
Oh loyalty,
It shouldn’t be so rare
Yes loyalty
To those who you claim to care
Give me loyalty
Without it, there is no trust
We need loyalty
Or a marriage turns to dust
Mmmm
Why can’t you just be
Just be loyal?
When we said our vows
Before family and God
We promised to be faithful
So that’s why I find it odd
That I found you with him
Together, in our bed…
I guess that you decided
Your loyalty is dead
Oh loyalty,
It shouldn’t be so rare
Yes loyalty
To those who you claim to care
Give me loyalty
Without it, there is no trust
We need loyalty
Or a marriage turns to dust
Mmmm
Why can’t you just be
Just be loyal?
Ya better pack your bags
Because we are through
I won’t spend another night
In this house with you!
I don’t care where ya go
Our marriage will never mend
You threw it away, babe
With your loyalty’s end
Oh loyalty,
It shouldn’t be so rare
Yes loyalty
To those who you claim to care
Give me loyalty
Without it, there is no trust
We need loyalty
Or a marriage turns to dust
Mmmm
Why can’t you just be
Just be loyal?
No you aren’t loyal…
You destroyed our vows
So get on outta here…
Time to take your final bows
Ohhhh it’s loyalty’s end….

Behind the Music

Composer’s Thoughts

Yeah I can’t really go into this one too much. Needless to say, this was written a few years ago and is based on true events. I’m happy with how life turned out, but this will no doubt speak to a lot of people. So take it from me, sometimes these things are for the best in the long run.

Clint’s Thoughts

A true country song through-and-through. Start to finish this is authentic old school country music that I grew up with in Texas. Tough subjects handled with grace and powerful emotions.
