Since When

A glam rock opera with bite is the only way to describe this epic song. Lee brings his wide vocal range to bare in this crazy, frantic hard rock ballad that asks the question, “Since when?” A bold mix of classical music and modern aesthetics unlike anything we’ve ever done.

Lyrics

You say that I matter
You say that you care
You say that you’re with me
That you’ll always be there
You say that you love me
That I’m meant for you
You say a lot of things
But what do you do
That’s why I ask
Since when?
Cuz I don’t see it
Since when?
Make me wanna quit
Since when?
Don’t do what ya say
Since when?
I might just go away
Between the two of us
I’m the one who follows through
I’m tired of lip service
Now’s your chance to do!
You say you’ll change
You say you’re better
You say it’s a new you
But I’ve not met her
You say so many things
That you claim are true
But I don’t see it
So what will you do
When I ask
Since when?
Cuz I don’t see it
Since when?
Make me wanna quit
Since when?
Don’t do what ya say
Since when?
I might just go away
Between the two of us
I’m the one who follows through
I’m tired of lip service
Now’s your chance to do!
I’m tired of always giving
Without any get
I’m not gonna live my life
Filled with regret
So this is your chance now
For you to show me
What you’re gonna do
To make me see…
Don’t wanna ask…
Since when?
Cuz I don’t see it
Since when?
Make me wanna quit
Since when?
Don’t do what ya say
Since when?
I might just go away
Between the two of us
I’m the one who follows through
I’m tired of lip service
Now’s your chance to do!
Since now or we’re through!

Behind the Music

Composer’s Thoughts

My absolute favorite band of all time is Queen. They will forever be the greatest rock band with the best front man ever. Their operatic songs were masterpieces and remain unrivaled. So I wanted to do something in the same glam rock vein to showcase the wide vocal talents of Lee, and perhaps show off a bit on my own piano and instrumental skills.

Lee’s Thoughts

Man, what a treat. I did not expect this when I first saw the lyrics at all. It’s a pretty simple story about someone who doesn’t feel appreciated, but they’re at the end of their rope. Most songs like this would take a romantic approach, but this went in an entirely different direction. Glam rock! I was so down for this.
